Antique 1888 Royal Worcester Vitreous Porcelain Dinnerware Set With Large Tureens and Ladles - 21 Piece Set
This antique 21 piece Royal Worcester Vitreous blue and white porcelain set was produced in England in 1888. The intricately hand painted cobalt blue floral pattern is accented by gold trim borders, gold gilt decorated Elephant head handles on each side of the tureens, gold gilt Eagles talon handles atop the lids of the tureens and butter-cheese lid as well as gold gilt leaves accenting the end tip of the spoon handles.
The set includes 12 Plates (9.15" W, 1.5" H), 1 large tureen (16" W, 10" H, 8.5" D) with Lid and large spoon (14" L), 1 small tureen (9.5" W, 6.5" H, 5" D) with Lid, small soup spoon ( 7" L ) and base plate (8.75" W, 8" H, 6" D) and 1 butter-cheese dish with lid (7.5" W, 4" H).
The Talon on the small Tureen looks like it might have broken and then repaired. Otherwise the set is in immaculate shape, extremely minor wear consistent with the age and use
