Late 19th Century Chinese Porcelain Footed Altar Box Melon Form Mottled Chartreuse Body With Twisting Vine Leaf

This large Chinese porcelain footed Alter box in Melon form, has a mottled round shape, glazed with yellow on top and bottom which blends to a bright green center before blending back to yellow. Accented by a brown stem, green creeping grape vines with red clusters of grapes protruding from three evenly positioned edges. Creeping vines generally symbolized immortality while Grape Vines, especially during the Ming Dynasty symbolized abundance. And the Melon symbolizing a woman's bump and fertility.
