This late 19th century hexagonal Chinese Wood Carved Birdcage depicts carved dragons on each of the six carved beams supporting the top of the cage and the dragon hook metal handle. The wood dragon carvings continue down each of the six sides to the 6 base carved dragon legs. As shown in the picture, the cage opens from a vertically sliding door showing the bamboo sticks protruding from the top of the cage. The bottom of the cage is removable from three pins. Inside you have a porcelain water feeder and various attachments for additional accents to be added.
